Ultrasonography in physiotherapy practice is big in the Netherlands. One in six clinics utilizes ultrasonography daily on their patients to make a more accurate diagnosis, to make referral to a specialist more efficient, to educate and calm patients that are worried about structural damage and even to guide their invasive techniques like dry needling or percutaneous electrolysis.

Niek Vink is a Dutch physiotherapist, sonographer and teacher at the Dutch National Training center for Ultrasound and has had over 900 students take a basic ultrasound course with him.

On the teachers:

Niek Vink is a physiotherapist, teacher and manager at the Dutch National training centre for Ultrasound (www.nt-e.nl). He has 10 years’ experience with using ultrasound in the clinic and teaching ultrasound to physiotherapists. He has had over 900 students take a basic ultrasound course with him. Now he is studying for his master’s degree to become a clinical epidemiologist, so he is also skilled at disseminating evidence and translating it into clinical practice. LinkedIn profile here.
